Polymeric Sanding · Milton

Local polymeric sanding you can book this week.

After we pressure wash an interlock driveway, walkway or patio, the joints between your pavers are clean — and empty. Polymeric sand is the finishing step that refills those joints with a premium polymer-bound sand that hardens into a firm, flexible bond. It stops weeds from sprouting, keeps ants from tunnelling, and locks every stone in place so your pavers stop shifting underfoot.

Fast-growing Milton trusts us for streak-free windows in Beaty, Willmott, Scott and Bronte Meadows.

Polymeric sand is what separates a paver job that looks great for one season from one that looks great for a decade. It's a blend of fine sand and polymer binders that, once activated with water, cures into a firm but flexible joint filler. Unlike mortar, it flexes with our brutal Toronto freeze-thaw cycles instead of cracking, and unlike plain sand, it stays put through heavy rain and snow melt.

  • Full pressure wash of the paver surface first
  • Joints flushed clean of old, depleted sand
  • Surface allowed to fully dry before sanding
  • Premium polymeric sand swept into every joint
  • Mechanical compaction to settle sand deep into the joints
  • Top-up sweep to fill any remaining voids

How we work in Milton

Step 1

Wash & dry

We pressure wash the pavers, flush out the old joint sand, and let the surface dry completely — wet joints ruin the bond.

Step 2

Sweep & compact

Premium polymeric sand is swept in, then compacted so it settles to the full joint depth. We top up and repeat until every joint is full.

Step 3

Activate

A fine mist activates the polymer in stages. Done right, it cures into a firm, flexible bond that flexes with freeze-thaw cycles.

Polymeric Sanding FAQs

Do I really need polymeric sand after a pressure wash?

Yes. Pressure washing pavers flushes out the old joint sand. Leaving the joints empty means weeds, ants and shifting stones within a season. Polymeric sand is what locks everything back in.

How long does polymeric sand last?

Properly installed polymeric sand lasts 5–10+ years in GTA conditions. It will slowly wear down over time and can be topped up without re-doing the whole surface.

Can you do polymeric sanding without pressure washing first?

We can, but we don't recommend it. The new sand bonds best to clean, debris-free joints. If you've washed recently we can pick up from there.

What if it rains right after?

We watch the forecast carefully and only schedule the activation step when we have a clear weather window. If unexpected rain comes through before the polymer sets, we'll come back and re-do affected sections free.
